bundles for hope program

COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM

Bundles for Hope (BH) aims to provide impoverished families with the basic necessity of life - food.

While the children of Barangay 128 know that Santa comes around once a year with a sack full of goodies, we, at PAC, endeavour to recreate this for the remaining 11 months of the year! Join us in fulfilling the requirements for the distributions of healthy and necessary food items to poverty-stricken families.

Looking back, in December 2016, for our 1st distribution we distributed 125 Family Christmas Food packages consisting of pasta and sauce so that families could share a dinner on Christmas Day.

In December 2017, we increased our distribution to 140 families from Barangays 128 and 145. These packages consisted of a 5-kg bag of rice, a 1-kg pack of pasta & sauce, sardines, corned beef, and personal hygiene items. These distributions were made possible due to a number of generous individual and organizational donors, including Disaster Aid Canada (Victoria), the Maya Forest Preschool (Manila), and the Rotary Club of APO (Quezon City), and repeated again in 2018 by distributing 226 BH.

In December 2019, we exceeded our expectations and distributed 285 BH to families of Barangays 128 and 145. The BH consisted of 5kg of rice, 1kg combo of pasta and sauce, canned corned beef, sardines and tuna, instant noodles, candies, biscuits, nutritional drinks, toothpaste, shampoo, and body and laundry soap.

Starting in 2020, we expanded to have two distributions per year: June and December, providing families of Barangays 128 and 145 with a variety of food items based on goods and cash donations, therefore, continuing with alleviating hunger among our disenfranchised communities, thus offering them the best gift anyone can give.

In April 2020, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, we distributed 50 BH to families of Barangay 145, followed in June 2020 with the distribution, this time of 350 BH to the families of Barangay 128. This was viewed as a great success in light of the financial difficulties also experienced by our donors due to the Covid-19. As we had to minimize contacts with the food items, the BH were limited to 1kg combo of pasta and sauce, canned corned beef (2), sardines (2) and tuna (2), and body and laundry soap.

In December 2020, having gained experience operating amidst the pandemic, we included this time 5kg of rice per family to the 1kg combo of pasta and sauce, canned corned beef, sardines and tuna, toothpaste, shampoo, and body and laundry soap. With the generosity of many of our individual donors, and the support of our corporate donors (Derma Roller Philippines, Thrive Global, iVolunteer Philippines and Unilever Philippines), 350 BHs were distributed among the families of Barangays 128 and 145.

On 26 June 2021, PAC had a new record and distributed 450 BHs to families of Barangays 128 and 145, but that record was shattered in December 2021 with the highest to date at 550 BHs.

In 2022, PAC adopted a new community called San Rafael Community (SRC) and made its first distribution outside Manila with 91 Bhs for the SRC residents.

As this program grabs the attention of more donors, our ultimate goal is to potentially increase the frequency, overtime, from twice per year to eventually monthly distributions.

We, with YOU, are committed to distributing these food packages to families across Barangays 128 and 145 in Tondo, as 100% of your donation goes towards providing one or more families with a BH. If you wish to donate, please "click" on the donate button below.
